Jorsalle

The last stop before Namche!

Jorsalle, situated at an altitude of 2,830 meters (9,281 feet), is a small village along the popular Everest Base Camp trek in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Located between Phakding and Namche Bazaar, Jorsalle serves as an important stop for trekkers heading towards Everest Base Camp. The village is beautifully nestled in the Dudh Koshi River valley, offering picturesque views of surrounding Himalayan peaks and dense rhododendron forests.

Jorsalle is well-known for its tranquility and scenic beauty, providing trekkers with a peaceful atmosphere to rest and relax on their journey. The village has a few lodges and teahouses where travelers can enjoy a warm meal and spend the night before continuing their ascent to Namche Bazaar. One of the key highlights of Jorsalle is its proximity to the Everest National Park and the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, which trekkers must pass through on their way to the base camp.

For those making their way to Namche Bazaar, Jorsalle is the last settlement before crossing the Dudh Koshi River via a high suspension bridge. From here, trekkers continue through the forested terrain, making their way to the bustling market town of Namche, the gateway to the higher Everest region.
