Dole

A main stop to the way to Gokyo

Dole, situated at an altitude of 4,090 meters (13,418 feet), is a small but charming village along the trail to the Gokyo Lakes in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It lies between Namche Bazaar and Machhermo, offering trekkers a peaceful resting point before continuing to higher elevations.

Nestled in a beautiful area, Dole is surrounded by lush rhododendron forests, magnolia trees, and stunning mountain views. The village provides a tranquil environment, perfect for acclimatization, helping trekkers adjust to the increasing altitude before heading towards the famous Gokyo Lakes. From Dole, trekkers can enjoy views of Thamserku, Kantega, and other towering peaks that add to the region’s breathtaking beauty.

Dole is known for its small teahouses and lodges that offer a welcoming atmosphere for trekkers. These teahouses serve as perfect spots to rest, enjoy a warm meal, and interact with fellow trekkers while soaking in the serene surroundings. The village is an important stop on the way to Machhermo and the Gokyo Lakes, offering trekkers a peaceful and scenic base before embarking on the more challenging sections of the trek.
