Phakding to Namche Bazaar

All the way up!

 

  • Elevation at Phakding: 2,610 meters (8,563 feet)

  • Elevation at Namche Bazaar: 3,440 meters (11,286 feet)

  • Distance: 10.4 km (6.5 miles)

  • Elevation Gain: +830 meters (2,723 feet)

  • Trek Duration: 6–7 hours

This is one of the more challenging days of the trek due to the considerable elevation gain. After crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, trekkers make their way to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa capital, and the gateway to Everest. The final stretch includes a steep ascent of 500 meters (1,640 feet) to reach Namche.
