Namche Bazaar to Dole

A Scenic Journey

 

The trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole takes you through beautiful alpine scenery, past traditional Sherpa villages, and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Ama Dablam and Thamserku.

  • Elevation at Dole: 4,038 meters (13,248 feet)

  • Distance: 6.5 km (4 miles)

  • Elevation Gain: +598 meters (1,962 feet)

  • Trek Duration: 5–6 hours

Leaving Namche Bazaar, the trail begins with a gentle climb, passing through lush forests of pine and juniper. The path offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains as you trek along ridges and valleys. You’ll also pass through traditional Sherpa villages, where you can get a glimpse into the daily life of the local people.

As you ascend towards Dole, the landscape gradually changes, with alpine meadows and small streams along the way. The air becomes thinner as you gain elevation, and the views of the surrounding peaks, including the majestic Ama Dablam, continue to impress.

Dole is a peaceful settlement with a few teahouses, where trekkers can rest and acclimatize. It’s an ideal spot to prepare for the next leg of the trek to Gokyo, offering a tranquil atmosphere and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
