Trek Through the Heart of the Gokyo Valley

 

The trek from Dole to Machermo takes you deeper into the Gokyo Valley, offering spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. This section of the trek is marked by dramatic landscapes and stunning Himalayan panoramas.

The trek begins with a gentle climb, passing through alpine meadows and small streams. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by towering peaks, including Thamserku and Cho Oyu, as you make your way through the beautiful valley. The landscape becomes more rugged as you approach Machermo, and you’ll notice the air thinning as you ascend.

Machermo is a small village with a few teahouses, serving as a perfect place to rest and acclimatize before continuing towards Gokyo. The village is situated in a stunning location, offering dramatic views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. This is a key stop for trekkers to adjust to the higher altitude before pushing forward on the journey to Gokyo.
